Get Global Prize Winners Are Going Global!
One of the biggest drawcards for Get Global 2018 was the plethora of international travel prizes to be won.
Throughout the one-day trade event, held last Friday at the ICC Sydney, 27 prizes were awarded to a few lucky attendees. To enter, buyers simply had to use the Get Global app, developed in conjunction with Touchpoint, to arrange their appointments throughout the day.
Gary Bender, Co-founder of Get Global, “Our global exhibitors generously donated over $200k worth of travel prizes. Accommodation, flights, experiences, food, relaxation – everything was covered! These prizes will allow many buyers to travel to places they may not have been before, have experiences they may not have been able to and now consider, and experience, venues and locations for their MICE needs.

For the 27 winners, they will get to have an experience of a lifetime, from 12 nights at four luxurious properties in Fiji, to a gold course stay and round at the famous St Andrew’s course in Scotland, all our winners will be heading off to new adventures in the next year.”
Get Global 2018 saw over 250 senior buyers network and meet with 20 countries and 140 different exhibitors. Coupled with the events unique one day format, the new ICMI Inspiration Corner and the technology used to make it easier for buyers and exhibitors to connect, has hailed the events second year an unrivalled success.
“Get Global presents an excellent opportunity for the New Zealand industry to network and connect with Australian buyers. It also provided a great platform for us to showcase our warm and unique style of hospitality, known as manaakitanga, by hosting the main networking event,” says Lisa Gardiner, Tourism New Zealand’s Global Manager Business Events.
“To hear my name being called out was very surreal! I am so excited! I can’t believe I’ll be heading to New Zealand for 12 days, and staying at some incredible properties, with tours and amazing food experiences!” said Jacinta Sydney, from Jacinta Sydney Events who won a trip to New Zealand valued at $9500.
Get Global – Where the World Meets, was held at the International Convention Centre, Sydney on Friday 20th July, 2018. The venue for Get Global 2019 is yet to be announced but will take place on 26th July 2019.
