Located within a 30 hectare site on the North Head of Manly you will find a unique destination, that is Q Station. An enduring part of Sydney’s history, that once served as the Quarantine Station for migrants arriving in Australia, can now be experienced 365 days a year. Located in the Sydney Harbour National Park, Q Station offers a wide variety of experiences for event organisers including hotel accommodation, unique function spaces and outdoor sites for events, conferences and weddings, tours and educational programs including the well known “ghost tours”, direct access to Sydney Harbour and the Australian bush. Restaurants and bars offer a wide range of dining options from a light snack to a gourmet dining experience.
The property is unlike no other in Sydney.
Q Station is located on Sydney's beautiful North Head, only 40 minutes by road from the CBD or 30 minutes via boat direct to Q Station's private wharf.
The property is set over 30 hectares of National Park and feels like a rural retreat. Driving is limited on site, adding to the relaxing feel of the venue. Guests can wander the site at leisure or partake in one of the history or ghost tours, or one of the educational programmes. The free museum is open 9.00am to 4.00pm daily.
Guests can also take advantage of the surrounding location including guided walks of North Head Sanctuary as well as easy access to Manly's CBD, less than a five minute drive away.
Q Station’s 106 accommodation rooms all offer privacy, contemporary comfort and a truly unique setting to complete your relaxing experience of the site. Choose from rooms with panaromic views of Sydney’s incredible harbour, the extensive grounds or the historic buildings of Q Station.
Accommodation options range from queen bedded rooms and suites, to three bedroom cottages. Guests have access to the three guest lounges on site including one with a pool table.
Q Station's Executive Chef, James Green, was born and raised on the small island of Lord Howe. He spent his formative years working in the family restaurant before travelling to Canada and the USA, spending time in the kitchens of acclaimed restaurants including Momofuku in Toronto, Modernist Temple WD-50 in New York City, and back home at the iconic Iceberg’s in Bondi.
James’ passion for modern and technique-driven, yet simple and accessible food is best showcased in the Boilerhouse menu, a small-plates style offering designed for sharing multiple dishes, that reflects both the breadth of modern Australian cuisine and the diversity of those who spent time in quarantine throughout history.
