Released by Darwin Convention Centre on Wednesday, 3 June 2020

The Darwin Convention Centre was announced NT winner and National Finalist for the Meetings & Events Australia (MEA) Industry Awards in the category of ‘Event Venue – Capacity more than 1,500’ at the MEALIVE 2019 Industry Awards.

The MEA Industry Awards recognise excellence and best business practice in the Meetings & Events Industry. Finalists were assessed across a range of business criteria and the year in review, including their impact on the meetings and events industry as a whole.

Peter Savoff, Darwin Convention Centre General Manager said “We are very proud of the Darwin Convention Centre’s achievements in 2019, with delegate attendance exceeding expectations for many events.  We look forward to welcoming our clients back to the Centre to continue to deliver world-class events with outstanding dining and exceptional service.”

“Winning this award can be attributed to our brilliant team – the heartbeat of our Centre, and the reason our clients experience unique events that only Darwin and the NT can provide.” Savoff continued.

Another win for the night was Darwin Convention Centre Business Development Executive, Emma Morriss, who was awarded the 2019 Northern Territory MEA/Ungerboeck Young Professional Scholarship.  Emma will attend the next National MEA Conference to develop skills, learn about industry trends and best practice, connect with industry leaders, event professionals and suppliers.
