2019 MEA AWARDS NOW OPEN

The 2019 MEA Awards Program is now open to the events community across Australia.

To assist our members entering the Awards program, MEA is conducting a ‘How to Guide’ webinar on Wednesday, 25 September. Anyone who is unavailable on the day can access a recorded version on MEATV.

Robyn Johnson, CEO of MEA said, “MEA has reframed the award categories under: Company Awards, Individual Awards and Event Awards. There are now three Platinum Awards for each of the three overriding categories”.

“Other changes include a new award for Speakers, Entertainers and Team Building. This recognises their contribution to our events. We have also fine-tuned some of the award descriptions and criteria”.

“The Venue Management Awards category has undergone the biggest change, with the criteria adjusted to reflect the wide blend of venues and their varying capacities”.

There is a total of 44 awards including 24 Company Awards, seven Individual Awards and nine Event Awards that recognise outstanding creativity, expertise and exceptional experiences in the delivery of events.

“MEA has carefully identified and recruited more than 70 event experts from across the industry and Australia to judge the submissions”’

The Awards are open to the entire event industry not just to MEA members. “We are hoping that this will attract a greater number of submissions from a diverse range of individuals and organisations.

There is nothing like winning an award that has been assessed by your peers to acknowledge and reward hard work. I encourage everyone in the events industry to look at their achievements and submit an award”, Ms Johnson concluded.

Nominees compete for their respective State and Territory awards, held in March/April 2020. Winners from each state and territories compete in the MEA National Awards to be presented on Tuesday 4 May at Evolve 2020 being hosted in the Hunter Valley.
