Pullman Brisbane Airport voted Best Airport Hotel Australia/Pacific in Skytrax global awards

Pullman Brisbane Airport is honoured to be given the title of Best Airport Hotel Australia/Pacific at the renowned Skytrax World Airport Awards 2019 at an industry event held in London last night. Pullman Brisbane Airport also secured 5th position in the World’s Best Airport Hotels 2019.

Alex Penklis, Chief Operating Officer of Brisbane Airport Hotels Group (BAHG), said the award is a testament to the dedication and determination shown by everyone involved within the hotel.

“I am incredibly proud of what we have been able to achieve so in our first year of operation.  Our success is a direct result of the hard work and dedication of our team in delivering a quality product and high level of customer service to our guests on a daily basis.”

Developed by Anthony and Scott Flynn, of Flynn Property Group and Scott Flynn Properties respectively, the Pullman Brisbane Airport was part of a $150 million project which also included the 243 room ibis Brisbane Airport and the 1,800sqm Brisbane Airport Conference Centre. The two brothers have also delivered a quality 4.5 star hotel at Brisbane Airport’s Skygate precinct, the Novotel Brisbane Airport. The three hotels with a combined total of 532 guest rooms sees the pair as the largest franchisee for Accor in the region.

The Pullman Brisbane Airport opened in October, 2017 as a 5 star luxury offering under the Accor brand. Featuring 132 rooms including 2 Executive Suites, 6 Junior Suites, 12 Deluxe Executive Rooms the hotel offers guests a relaxing transit while awaiting their flight. Guests can enjoy a bite to eat in Apron Restaurant and Bar, relax by the pool or unwind in the Executive Club Lounge.

The Skytrax World Airport Awards are the most prestigious accolades for the aviation industry, voted by customers in the largest, annual global airport customer satisfaction survey. The survey and awards process is independent and free of any airport influence or interference in final results.

Brisbane Airport Corporation (BAC) is also celebrating after Brisbane Airport (BNE) reclaimed the title of Best Airport (Australia/Pacific) and increased its position to 18th in the World’s Top 100 Airports list, up from 22 in 2018. Gert-Jan de Graaff, BAC Chief Executive Officer, said there was no greater accolade than being voted the best by global travellers in the world’s most prestigious industry awards. “We are incredibly proud of this achievement as we’ve worked hard over the last few years to improve facilities, processes and the passenger experience at our terminals.

The Awards are based on 13.73 million airport customer surveys completed during the survey period. Covering an extensive network the survey evaluated key performance indicators such as – overall experience at the hotel, access to and from the airport, service at Reception, cleanliness, Restaurant quality, value for money and quality of customer service. The World Airport Awards are a global benchmark in airport excellence to strive towards.
