AIME 2019 a Unique Snapshot of Australasian Premier Destinations & Event Spaces

Released by AIME on Tuesday, 18 December 2018

Melbourne’s Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Event (AIME), the leading meetings and conventions event in the Asia Pacific region, has announced an impressive array of Australian and New Zealand exhibitors set to showcase at AIME 2019.

Exhibitors confirmed to lead the world-class lineup include Melbourne & Olympic Parks (M&OP),  previewing their new function centre opening in 2022; Meet in Regional NSW, representing the states diverse offerings; and Tourism New Zealand (TNZ), all contributing to AIME’s unique Australasian offering.

M&OP, home of the Australian Open, will showcase their range of venues located on the edge of the city’s vibrant CBD, including their new function centre opening in 2022 as part of a $1 billion redevelopment.

“We’re incredibly excited to unveil our state-of-the-art function centre at AIME – offering delegates the opportunity to be the first in the world to book their business events for 2022. Attendees will be treated to a host of event spaces all within a stone’s throw of the Melbourne CBD, and with flexibility to cater for everything from bespoke intimate dinners to large scale conferences and events,” says Lara Burnes, General Manager – Premier Events & Experiences, M&OP.

The NSW Government will represent some of the state’s most iconic destinations, venues and hidden gems, with the largest stand NSW has ever had on show at the 2019 event.

Minister for Tourism and Major Events Adam Marshall said AIME will provide a valuable platform to encourage event planners to visit the ‘Meet in Regional NSW’ website, a one-stop shop that promotes more than 330 venues for those looking to host their next event.

“Next year will be the first time we’ve had 24 co-exhibitors from across regional NSW participating at AIME, so it’s fantastic to have this opportunity to shine a bright light on our incredible conferencing destinations and venues, which are on show 24/7 via the ‘Meet in Regional NSW’ website,” Mr Marshall said.

“The conferencing industry is currently worth $173 million in overnight visitor expenditure to rural and regional NSW, and we look forward to growing this number even further as a result of our presence at AIME 2019.”

From across the Tasman Sea, TNZ will feature some of their most scenic locations, recently celebrated as the ‘People’s Choice – Favourite Destination’ at the 2018 Australian Travel Awards.

“New Zealand’s business event offering continues to grow, with two new world-class convention centres under construction in Auckland and Christchurch and one announced for Wellington last week. The range of activities and experiences available in New Zealand are varied and unique, offering conference delegates a memorable experience. We are excited to showcase this at AIME 2019,” says Anna Fennessy, Tourism New Zealand’s Global Manager Business Events.

With two months to go before the industry event opens, AIME 2019 has confirmed exhibitors from across 20 different countries, once again broadening the event to reflect the Asia Pacific region and its unique destinations and cultures.

Running from 18–20 February, AIME is the first event to kick off the 2019 MICE calendar and is held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, a major event sponsor, making use of their new space and facilities from their recent $200M centre expansion.
