Business Events Sunshine Coast holds Sunshine Soiree in Brisbane

Business Events Sunshine Coast (BESC) has captured the imaginations of our southern neighbours at their annual Sunshine Soiree.

The event showcased the Sunshine Coast’s best conference and incentive products to the Brisbane market, highlighting the region’s venues and natural beauty as the perfect location for corporate events.

This year’s Sunshine Soiree saw 20 Sunshine Coast tourism operators share their products with more than 40 Brisbane based corporations, including Novotel Twin Waters Resort who recently started construction on a new $8 million convention centre.

Held on October 18 at Brisbane’s Tumbling Stone Restaurant & Bar, the event organised by BESC offered a taste of the Sunshine Coast in more ways than one with signature Buderim Ginger Beer cocktails offered on arrival and a selection of local produce.

Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC) CEO Simon Latchford said the Sunshine Coast’s position as a leading business events destination has only been furthered with the recent announcement of the new $8 million convention centre and the launch of a significant new four-day food festival for the region.

“The Sunshine Coast really does offer the best of both worlds for business events,’ Mr Latchford said.

“Not only do we offer outstanding venues but they are set against the backdrop of our region’s naturally beautiful landscape, from the Glass House Mountains to our stunning coastline.

“Providing a business venue that incorporates the natural beauty of the region is what sets up apart from other major cities.

“The Sunshine Coast is easily accessible from Brisbane - as well as Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide through Sunshine Coast Airport - making it the perfect destination to wind down and return to work refreshed and recharged.

“The recent investment by Novotel Twin Waters Resort and announcement of Australia’s biggest food event, The Curated Plate, to be held on the Coast next year recognises the value in the Sunshine Coast as a business and leisure destination and will aid in creating global destination awareness.”

BESC manager Maureen Brennan said the Sunshine Soiree was the perfect opportunity to share what’s new on the Sunshine Coast, inspiring business delegates for their next event.

“This is a perfect way to update the Brisbane market on the outstanding venues, products and service operators located on the Sunshine Coast,” she said.

“The latest news and product information that they hear is quite valuable to the attendees, and it gets them excited about bringing their business into our region.”

The Sunshine Coast operators in attendance included Aussie World, Australia Zoo, Kangaroo Bus Lines, Kingfisher Bay Resort, Landmark Resort and Spa Mooloolaba, Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas, Mantra Mooloolaba Beach, the Sebel Maroocydore, Maroochy Surf Club, Novotel Twin Waters Resort, Oaks Hotels and Resorts, Rumba Beach Resort, Spicers Retreats, Spirit House Restaurant & Cooking School, The Wasabi Group, Surfair Conference & Events Centre, The Sebel Noosa, Beach Road Holiday Homes, Best Western Plus Lake Kawana Hotel and Sofitel Noosa Pacific Resort.

Overnight accommodation, cooking school vouchers and venue discounts were given away on the day, and each delegate was given a ‘Sunshine Soiree 2018’ guidebook: a motivational tool to inspire Brisbane delegates planning their next business event.

Business Events Sunshine Coast is a division of VSC, whose responsibility is to market the Sunshine Coast as a viable, attractive and sustainable business events destination.
