Top Five Themes for Festive Functions

Released by Action Event Services on Thursday, 27 September 2018

Super Heroes
“A Hero can be any-one” according to Batman. We’ve all fought the good fight to get through to the end of 2018. Letting staff know they are Super heroes with a Villains and Super Heroes themed function is one of the hits of the season.  Consider a designated photo opportunity by setting up the chance to take pictures with Superman & Wonder Woman. And create your own Instagram hash tag so every-one can share the fun.

Circus
Always a perennial favorite, a circus theme instantly brings a childlike smile to people’s faces. Perfect for sit down dinners & cocktail functions alike with roving entertainment and wandering magic shows. Side Show Alleys are a great way to bring an interactive element to your guests. Fortune teller booths below the festoon lights and who can resist the smell of fairy floss and popcorn in the air.

Casino Royale
And speaking of guest interaction nothing gets the crowd involved like a casino night. Whether you set your tone to sophisticated and stirred with James Bond’s Casino Royale or  glitz it up on the Las Vegas Strip, roulette wheels, poker tables, black jack and money wheels will make some & break some. But while the croupiers are incorruptible there is nothing to say the pit boss might not be open to handing out some extra funny money to those who didn’t learn when to hold ‘em or when to fold ‘em.

Cotton Club
The classic elegant option. Monochromatic and understated. Theming your entertainment to match your décor adds another level. A Jazz band playing soft shoe jazz early in the evening and livening it up to a swinging jazz party later in the evening against a backdrop of white sequined drape swagged with black and deco band stands across the front of the stage encourages guests to tip their fedoras and shake those Charleston fringes. And who’s to say that a draped off area, half hidden may not lead to a clandestine casino flouting the prohibition by-laws?

Decades of Delight – From Deco to Disco
Looking for more of a party atmosphere. So much scope with this one. Ask your guests to dress to their favorite decade. 50’s rock’n’rollers mixing with fancy flappers, 60’s hippies dancing with disco ducks. Po-going punk rockers dancing with Prince devotees like it’s 1999. Consider theming chill zones with 70’s bean bags or swirling couches to allow guests a break from all their break-dancing.
