Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas digs deep for local Landcare Group

Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas and the Noosa & District Landcare Group (NDLG) yesterday (11 July) planted 2,200 trees in an endangered regional area of Kin Kin, a locally recognised UNESCO Noosa Biosphere area, as part of their partnership.

In FY17, Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas donated $5,080 to the NDLG which contributed towards purchasing the trees.

Peppers Noosa Resort & Villas General Manager Steve McPharlin said he is delighted the property can assist in rebuilding local ecosystems with the landcare group.

“For every day conference delegate visiting our property, we donate $2 to NDLG which has contributed to today’s planting session,” said Mr McPharlin. It’s great for us to be able to give back to the local community and know we are assisting this threatened area of Kin Kin.”

Noosa & District Landcare Group General Manager Phil Moran said his team are appreciative of the support from Peppers over the past year.

“Peppers’ support has allowed for us to give this endangered regional area of Kin Kin the care it desperately needed, adding a mix of native flora to the ecosystem,” said Mr Moran. Now that the trees have been planted, the site will be watered and maintained over the next three years by NDLG.”

NDLG donated Richmond Birdwing Butterfly vine to provide native flora for the endangered butterfly species found in the area.
