Adelaide Convention Centre

Venue Highlights

Australia’s first purpose-built convention centre, the Adelaide Convention Centre has emerged as one of the world’s most modern, flexible and technologically advanced meetings and events venues following a $397M redevelopment.

The ACC comprises three independent yet seamlessly integrated buildings: East, Central and West, which collectively span 20,000sqm of multi-purpose event space. The main Plenary Hall, located in the East Building, is the centerpiece of innovation and flexibility. Fitted with hinged seating, operable walls and two rotating seating drums, it can be arranged into more than 15 different configurations to create an ideal fit for any event. The revolving auditoriums can be used as part of the Plenary or rotated 180 degrees in minutes to form two individual theatrettes.

Location

The expanded Adelaide Convention Centre sits at the heart of the city’s Riverbank Precinct, which is in the midst of a multi-billion-dollar redevelopment. A hive of activity, the Riverbank is where the city’s cultural, sporting, education, medical, conference and entertainment zones merge, making it Australia’s best connected business events district.

Without doubt, one of Adelaide’s primary convention advantages is its incredible accessibility. Centrally located within Australia,
Adelaide is supported by a growing flight network that offers one-stop connections to 300 destinations around the world. The CBD is just 15 minutes from the airport and home to a lively arts, entertainment, sporting and dining scene, including busy cafés, restaurants and laneways.

Catering Information

Creative food and beverage is core to the Adelaide Convention Centre experience, with the venue taking advantage of South Australia’s reputation as the food and wine capital of Australia. The ACC prides itself on delivering visitors a taste of South Australia, with 97 percent of produce sourced from local, sustainable environments.

In July 2018, the ACC launched its latest innovation in the form of a fresh new menu, Honest Goodness. Best described as ‘feel good, whole food, made fresh’, the new menu was developed in collaboration with leading nutritional experts from the South Australian Health and Medical Research Institute (SAHMRI) and has transformed the convention centre culinary experience with its emphasis on minimal intervention foods and conscious reduction of processed elements.
