Leonda By The Yarra are very excited to announce their acquisition of Gary Mehigan's successful Richmond venue: Fenix.
Carly and Eric Cohen, Directors of Leonda By The Yarra will take over ownership from July 1st. They have announced their intentions to continue operations under the Fenix Events name and run the business as an exclusive events space, rejuvenating the ground floor restaurant to allow for two completely separate event rooms.
Thrilled at the prospect of extending their renowned personalised service to Fenix patrons, they commented:

Gary Mehigan, current Fenix owner and Masterchef host commented about the sale of Fenix and the future:

The two venues are a perfect fit, both well-established businesses with riverfront locations that have a great reputation for excellence. Winner of the 2012 ABIA award for Best Reception Venue, Leonda underwent a major transformation in 2006 and showcases two magnificent event spaces that are highly sought after for a variety of events including weddings, corporate and social functions. Fenix has remained a strong competitor in both the corporate and wedding markets and is a landmark for residents in Richmond. Both are renowned for their amazing food, exceptional service and beautiful water views.
Between Leonda and Fenix , Leonda By The Yarra will now be able to cater for events ranging from 60 – 1000 people and the renovation of Fenix will allow the creation of another elegant, sophisticated venue option for the city of Melbourne.
