Hilton Sydney is Home to the Best in the Business - Marjolein Aben wins MEA Business Development Person of the Year

Sydney, Australia. March 2011 – Marjolein Aben, Director of Event Services  at Hilton Sydney was awarded the coveted Business Development Person of the Year at the 2011 Meetings and Events Australia (MEA) Gala Awards dinner.

 

Marjolein  has been in the hospitality industry for over 16 years and this year celebrates her 10th anniversary with Hilton. She has led the Event Services team at Hilton Sydney since pre-opening in 2005 and manages the hotel's extensive meeting and event facilities. Marjolein is a leader and role model within the Meetings & Event Industry.

 

Marjolein’s  key achievements and career highlights include the training and development of numerous Event Managers, who have gone on to senior roles in Hilton, improving client satisfaction and increasing repeat levels of business, and assisting in the rollout of regional Hilton initiatives such as Celebrity Inspired Creative Catering and Hilton Australasia’s Carbon Offset Program.

 

Hilton Sydney was also a proud finalist in two other key categories: Meeting Venue (500 delegates or more); and Specialty Venue – Zeta Bar. In addition, Hilton Sydney’s in-house theming and audiovisual partner, Staging Connections won the Technical & Creative Production – Branch turnover >$5million category.

 

Enjoying the gala dinner and entertainment  with her Event Services team, Marjolein Aben said “I am extremely proud and honoured to have received this accolade and attribute my success to the dedicated Events Team and support of senior management at Hilton Sydney.”
