Werribee Open Range Zoo opened in 1983. Grasslands species of the world are displayed in an expansive savannah habitat along the picturesque Werribee River. The award-winning Slumber Safari overnight camps and Kubu River Hippos experiences offer visitors a true taste of African
Adventure. With more than 6 unique function locations and a capacity of 20-3,500 consider treating your guests to a progressive function beginning with cocktails by the Cheetahs followed by a themed dinner in the Meerkat Reception Centre. Perhaps you'd prefer to host a BBQ lunch in the African Village;or a banquet in the Savannah Room with pre-dinner drinks on the Alfresco decking overlooking African village completing this truly unique space. Duma includes a Marquee from October - March and can cater up to 1,500
Location
Werribee Open Range Zoo is located 35km west of Melbourne's city centre, on the Princes Freeway. It is a short 30-minute drive from the city over the Westgate Bridge or via the Geelong Road. Take the Werribee South exit to K Road.
The Zoo is conveniently located close to the Melbourne central business district, Geelong, and Tullamarine and Avalon airports, and is on the way to the Great Ocean Road. It is also a major attraction on the Great Southern Touring Route and the Bay Tour.

Our team of Chefs prepare a wide variety of delicious options from a quick snack to a corporate or wedding Celebration banquet.
They also creatively designed menus for special events and new product launches throughout the Zoos which show case exciting fresh produce and unique taste experiences.
