Location
Ooraminna Homestead is located approximately 32 kms south of Alice Springs on the Old South Road. It's about a 40 minute coach drive from the centre of town along the rich red dirt tracks of the Centre .... We can assist you by organising your return coach transfers from your accommodation or conference venues in Alice Springs.
Accommodation
Ooraminna Homestead offers all styles of accommodation. The Luxury Cabins (two only) are handcrafted from local desert oak timber & corrugated iron and set at the base of the ranges.
The Police station and old Gaol are handcrafted in local stone and along with the replica Slab Hut all have an open fireplace to provide winter warmth.
A unique and exciting way to experience the real outback is to spend a night in a swag under the spectacular Centralian star studded sky.
Catering Information
Ooraminna Homestead can provide full catering for your event. Experience an outback BBQ with a HUGE selection of fresh salads or good hearty station fare such as roast beef and vegetables ..... With our Tastes of the Red Centre menu we highlight regional Australian native tucker such as marinated prime scotch fillet steak with bush dukkah ... chargrilled barramundi with sweet chilli & lemon myrtle ... kangaroo fillet dusted with wattleseed ... an although Ooraminna is set in the middle of cattle country we do offer vegetarian alternatives.
Recreational Facilities
Bushwalking, bird watching, star gazing, whip cracking and damper making are just some of the activities we can organise for you at Ooraminna ..... We can assist you with touring options including a cattle station tour, hot air ballooning and camel rides ..... Or we can organise your own Private Rodeo with some of Australia's best cowboys to contest against each other and their stock in an ultimate outback battle.
Technical Facilities
We are working to make all of our sites power sufficient in the future, however, we currently need to hire generators and lighting for large functions. The various venues are set at the base of the Ooraminna ranges and spectacular effects can be achieved through lighting up the surroundings. We can organise this for you plus all of your technical and entertainment support needs.
