Sumac
Shed 14 , Central Pier, Docklands Victoria Australia 3008 View Map

Venue Highlights

Drawing on the simplicity of space and making the most of natural daylight, Sumac is transformed by night, its ambience enhanced by soft lighting. A distinctive, unique interior has a Moroccan influence that is also reflected in the exotic, gently spiced menu, with an emphasis on fresh produce. If architecture, style and modern lines is what you seek, Sumac is the choice for you.

When you host your event with Atlantic Group (v) at Sumac, we offer a complimentary selection of linen that includes brown underlay with a choice of white or black overlay – napkins white or black. We also provide floral arrangements on the bar and in the bathrooms in addition to luxurious L’occitane hand wash and cream, and cloth towels.

Location

From its beginnings at South Wharf, Sumac has gained a reputation for hosting many of Melbourne’s most exclusive events. The space features high ceilings and rich colours, a reference to the spice from which Sumac takes its name. Its relocation to Central Pier was an evolution of this theme. The new Sumac is a cutting edge version of its predecessor, technologically upgraded and more sophisticated on every level. Sumac is located in the newly developed Central Pier at the Docklands, with the heritage-listed Shed 14 providing the backdrop. Boasting stunning views of Victoria Harbour, Central Pier is the most culturally significant waterfront development ever undertaken in Melbourne.

Catering Information

Sumac offers a culinary experience which will not disappoint. The gently spiced Middle Eastern and Moroccan influenced menu created by the Atlantic Group's Executive Chef, Dan Shanks ensures Sumac lives up to the example set by the land of its inspiration. The menu includes an extensive array of plated dishes as well as an exciting mix of food stations and bars designed to make the food a defining feature. To complement the mouth-watering fare, our in-house sommelier has developed a wine list that includes varieties from large and boutique wineries throughout Australia and New Zealand.
